Just heard about Humphrey Lyttelton passing away. Very sad news. He was a great musician and broadcaster. He hosted what I consider was one of the funniest programs on radio (and TV come to that) - ''I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue'' - on Radio 4. He also composed one of my favourite blues - 'Bad Penny Blues'.
I met him once, through a friend of the family - a very nice bloke. I'm sorry I never had the opportunity to meet him again to tell him how much I enjoyed his work.
He'll be sadly missed in an age of multi-media pap!

Always avoided the jazz, but I really enjoyed him in I'm sorry, I haven't a clue.

Always avoided the jazz, but I really enjoyed him in I'm sorry, I haven't a clue. Yes, not fond of jazz - but love innuendo - a Spanish suppository, I believe.

Very sad news indeed.
I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue is one of my favorite programs full stop and he was such an integral part of it. Some of the things he would say were so outrageous no-one else could get away with it, but that was just Humph !
Sadly I've read that I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue may have died with him.

Yes sad news , he'll be missed by many . I'm sorry I haven't a clue was , arguably , the best show on Radio4 , I hope that it will be kept going but our Humph will be a very tough act to follow . " Countyside - the desire to kill Piers Morgan ." Stephen Fry - Im sorry I haven't a clue . Classic comedy .
