I was talking to someone the other day about Ian Lawman. This medium told me how Ian had done some work with a friend of his and that they were never paid and he was! So out of interest I ventured onto his site and read that he offers his services to paranormal groups. So of course I emailed to get a costing, which is below. I was quite shocked at the amount considering expenses are on top of this! Hi Kim
Ian's fees are £500 plus expenses and stay-over. Best Regards Julie Carver PA The Other-Side PO-Box 295 Scunthorpe DN16 3WU Tel: 01724 340078 Fax: 01724 848941 Mobile: 07920 066177 Website: www.ianlawman.org Fansite: www.thepsychicbadboy.org www.myspace.com/thepsychicbadboy

I asked for an overnight rate - not sure if that even means the length of an investigation!

No doubt it will be his spirit guide who tells him to charge that much, given his own choice he'd do it for free....

I have never had a problem with mediums charging to cover expenses, but this is extortionate!

Yes he's probably really cool and a lovely lovely man, but its amazing how many conmen in the past have been described that way?
"Ian successfully helped trapped Spirits move into the light" and the proof of that is.......
"rubbing shoulders with ‘A’ list celebrities", bloody tough life being a medium these days
"Celebrities and the public cannot help but warm to Ian’s down to earth approach" Yep, cause its all down to charisma, the more medium 'groupies' you have the better for your career. Its about time these people started looking at the actual abilities of mediums instead of their looks and personality. How many 'fan sites' of mediums are filled with people just dying to throw their knickers at these mediums. They're not pop stars, and yet they have the same following. Its ridiculous.

also if you put it as my mate is in a band his band charges £600 for the night I say night so its about 4 hours if that
another mate is a stripper his rates are £110 for 15 mins of getting his clothes off and his CoCk out......
SO when you think £500 it really does depend on the length of time they are working for

Im sorry, but £500 to have a bloke come round and talk about the voices in his head is just plain stupid.

Junior doctors are a whole different issue, we could bring footballers and all sorts into this but that is a differnt type of earnings... I was referring to people in the "entertainement" i class it is that as I dont know what else to call it....... This is about the going rate when you refer to my above examples of poeple who in theory are providing a similar service, they provide a service for the evening

So how much is fair?? Never been told this by a sceptic. Also. I get fed up with every medium being criticized for charging anything. Does ANY sceptic on here do anything for nothing, even out of pockets expenses. Charity etc. Well? ?

every one rants on about how much a medium charges, and with out trying to go round in circles again, there are mediums that dont even charge expenses.
We have a medium in the area that even offers a money back guarantee if you not happy with the reading.

I don't charge,in fact it cost me in travel etc. I just wonder how many sceptics would be willing to give there time free for anything.

I really don't have a problem with mediums charging I just thought as he was getting expenses and a hotel thrown in as well that £500 seemed a little steep!
There aren't that many people out there that earn 500 quid for one nights "work" and earn 100%gp from it!

We give our free time by doing stuff for charity. Sometimes we also get called into private residences where they want our side of things..we don't charge for this apart from tavelling expenses which is usually about £5. So yep, some of us sceptics do things for free.
But, I know a lot of mediums do aswell, and I think it is unfair that sometimes all are tarred with the brush of being money making frauds.
