Jon when the reporter referred to skeptics and hate campaigns did they mean this site? or just skeptics in general? is this why they are not going to show your interview?

"Hate campaigns"? I prefer to use the term "fact-finding mission".

Hey 1 second of fame Julia, I saw one of your posts that was on the BP page shown in the documentary ;D On another note it is easy to see why people are taken in by him, he seems plausible in his reasoning that he helps people and he has to make a living, but I feel he is fooling people and himself. He needs to get a proper job.

Not particularly scientific, there's so much more they good have done, but on the whole I don't think the programme was too bad. I think anyone who is even mildly sceptical would have seen him as the fraud he is. The rest will probably continue lining his pockets.

I laughed out loud a few times. Once when he moved the glass with his finger. When the table didn't move. When he was in trance. When he was trying to explain why the bladder stone was still there - I just knew that was going to be his explanation.
Complete fraud.

I also laughed at "Abraham" saying, through Gary, that he had come to visit "your planet".. So the Biblical Abraham comes from another planet.

Halfway through, his accent returned to Harrow's best. Before going back to the otherworldy one.
Honestly, the people Gary mixes with on a daily basis must be incredibly gullible if he thinks he can get away with this crap.

I don't think Mannion got off too lightly with how the doc portrayed him. More negative than endorsing his delusion but he will no doubt benefit from it. When he said he was going to let father Abraham take over his vocal cords I was expecting something a little better than Obi Wan Kenobi but hey ho Gary didn't go to Italia Conti Stage School did he. Obviously he's getting the usual gullible punters who pay to see the likes of Acorah et al so it's no wonder that that achey bit of Arthur Askey in the arm gets cured by the Tennants Super Tramp, sorry, father Abraham. Oh, and if it really is the old testament prophet why isn't he speaking Aramaic? All in all I thing the prog exposed Mannion for the deluded fraud that he probably is.

Will be watching it at 11.45 when its repeated but from what others have said so far it sounds like Mr Mannion comes across as a complete desperado clutching at straws and failing miserably to convince anyone of any real ability on his part other than a heightened talent for making himself look incredibly stupid whilst dragging the poor sods who go to him for help down the same path of delusion . Will see if that opinion changes after ive actually seen the programme for myself but my guess is it will no doubt only get worse

Coming back to Old Father Abraham, was that painting taken from historical descriptions or a fondly remembered glimpse of Catweazle?

I was wondering where i'd seen that face before, you're quite right it is Catweazle!. The final cut may have left out the interview with Jon Donni but I think you can read quite a bit into he fact that they included the scene with Mannion and the psychic pole dancer.

There was a psychic pole dancer ?!? WTF Wahhhahahahaaaa ...ahhhhh sorry ...i just got this mental picture of some fraud in a thong legs akimbo round a pole declaring to a punter " Im seeing hard times ahead for you , but dont worry things will be on the up soon ". All chuckles aside though the serious side and affects of what people like Mannion do and get away with just aint funny and its grand if he comes out of this looking like a delusional idiot and joke but id hoped for a more comprehensive deconstruction of what he claims to be able to do proving his claims are totally false rather than just one of those docus that throws a bit of analysis in amongst a lot of Mannion air time and fluff . The part mentioned where they show the stone he and his "punter" claimed had gone was infact still there sounds more along the lines of what youd want .
