No, haven't really exorcised anyone, just thought it would be a good line for the next Mia Dolan book. I know all the words to Jabberwocky and have applied for the post of her assistant. Anyway, am new to this site and will try and keep it brief but am not good at that. Have always been very interested in all things spiritual and love sharing points of view with different people, having respect for other peoples views and loathing anyone who tries to force their opinion on you. Had good and bad experiences and agree with lots of the views about vulnerable people being exploited, been there myself. I was led to this site by the shame of my mother becoming one of those increasing band of women who make beatlemania look tame with their "diamte'd ones" ie Derek Acorah addiction, she used to be sane(ish) but nothing I can do so far will curb her. The only interesting thing I have to add from firsthand experience with regard to degsie is that I have been guilty of phoning a medium, although it was by word of mouth recommendation, and it was a good reading IMHO, the main thing being she broke off from spiel and we started discussing stuff, she mentioned something I'd had a dream about a couple of nights earlier, recommended a book to me, which a friend of mine gave me to read two days later, completely unrelated, which was interesting (sorry, little sideways digression), anyhoo, apparently she used to work with him prior to his being offered a job with living tv, and I quote "he was really average, now he's just a bloody showman, avoid him at all costs" Anyway, thats my obligatory post, hopefully am not a lurker anymore, looking forward to discussing stuff, orbs away for now!!!

Hi, sobrietysucks. I've been to see degsie - can I just hasten to add that it was not intentional - I went to Alton Towers with my husband, and found that degsie was there, and was doing shows all through the day in this big tent. So anyway, we sat in on one, and I made a quiet bet with myself that if he picked me out of the audience to give me a message, and it was accurate, I might think about looking into his 'abilities' further and stop slagging him off every time he got 'possessed' on MH. Needless to say, he didn't pick me out. My abiding memory from that show is that he picked someone else out, and claimed that he had an older man with him, who had been a huge football fan. He asked if this meant anything to the person. Well duh, what are the odds on that? After this positive start, however, he proceeded to monumentally cock it up. After having made a big show of this man and his football mania (he had already picked up on the fact that these people were fellow scousers from their accent), he attempted to push it that bit further, by exclaiming 'yeah, yeah, he loved his football, all right...I've got him here and I can see him cheering and shouting 'come on, the reds!' He loved those reds, didn't he!' whereupon a member of the family piped up with 'no, he was an Everton supporter'. Even when he had a 50% chance of getting it right, he got it wrong. He moved on fairly swiftly after that, and I can remember nothing else at all about the show. I've also got a tiny suspicion that he had people planted in the audience, but I've got nothing to back that up.
