Edgar Cayce: The Worlds Greatest Psychic? Edgar Cayce (1877-1945)
Has anyone heard of him? He's got over 6 or 7 books published, I've been asked to read one of his by a friend who's into spiritualism and mediums, the book he gave me to read was "Edgar Cayce: On Mysteries of the Mind" I must admit, 17 pages into it and already recommending the book to read by anyone, it does make you think from a different perspective which is interesting.
On each of his books, it has imprinted "The Worlds Greatest Psychic" does his reputation live up to this I wonder?

I recommend a Cayce book entitled, "Many Mansions," by Gina Cerminara.

Edgar Cayce, the "Sleeping Prophet", is very famous here in the U.S., at least among people interested in the paranormal and psychics. All sorts of claims are made about him, from his ablitity as a boy to fall asleep on his schoolbooks and wake up able to quote a random passage word for word, to his extraordinary talents as a "distance healer", which means he went into a sort of trance and could diagnose ailments of people he had never met, but had only learned about from their letters, read to him by his wife. Cayce's work today is continued by the Association for Research & Enlightenment, where all his writings are preserved. Some critics say they only release Cayce's prophecies which seem to have been the most truthful. Here's a link to the A.R.E., for those interested: edgarcayce.org/ *edited to fix typo!*

Considered by many to be the father of modern day new age mysticism, not too familiar with his works but I do recall he predicted that atlanteans had left a vast repository of knowlege in a hidden chamber beneath the sphinx. Cant wait to see Zahi Hawass dig that one up

at bobdezon. Cayce's group is big on proving the existence of Atlantis, and I noticed on their website that they are still supporting the theory that the so-called Bimmi Road in the Atlantic Ocean is the remains of the lost city. This despite the accepted archaeological theories that the legendary city most likely would have been in the Mediterrean.

The Bimini road, I loved reading about this in those strange but true books when I was a child, veritable proof of Atlantis they said. It certainly looked like a road or collapsed wall to me. Of course using occrams razor as a standard of deduction it is probably just a tesselated pavement (geologists also agree) there are some great examples here which to be fair really do look like a man made structure. images.statelibrary.tas.gov.au/Search/Search.asp?Letter=T&Subject=Tessellated+Pavement+(Eaglehawk+Neck%2C+Tas.)If they raised a few of the stones and checked for tool marks on the rock (obviously in the areas not exposed to prolonged water erosion like the seams etc) then maybe they could say for sure what they are.
