How often have you heard people claim that their own unusual or extraordinary abilities are down to external supernatural forces? We hear it a lot with the people that we investigate on this forum. Well at the weekend I met Jason Hameister from Australian Skeptics who can tear and bend unusual objects. Forget spoon bending. He will bend screw drivers and frying pans and much more. He first did it to combat those claims that unusual abilites are a result of supernatural or the forces of woo. He claims his abilities are pure strength and technique. Nothing more. In this video he explains how to tear the Yellow Pages in half and talks about his beliefs. Oh yes, I also attempt to do the same.

A long time ago when there used to be theatres where there was live entertainment, there was a lady by the name of Joan Rhodes, a strong woman, she tore telephone directories, bent six inch nails etc. she invited people on stage, my dad went on stage and successfully bent the nails, much to her surprise. Sorry, a trip down memory lane there. ;D I tore a directory in half only a couple of years back, just technique.

Yes pure technique Terry. That is all it is. I am still trying to learn it but then again I did not learn to do my laces until I was 14

Break the back and tear from there.
I have reached an age where I do not buy shoes with laces. ;D Still got some nice shoes with laces but choose slip ons for some reason. My arms seem to have got shorter? I shall never buy velcro though. ;D

Lol shall I call you the guvner? Leonard McLean (9 April 1949 - 28 July 1998), better known as "The Guv'nor", was a famed East End of London bareknuckle fighter, bouncer, former criminal, author, television presenter, and actor; McLean was often referred to as "the hardest man in Britain".
[...]
In later life, McLean branched out into acting. His most acclaimed role was in Guy Ritchie's 1998 British gangster comedy film: Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, playing the part of 'Barry The Baptist'. A few months after filming Lock, Stock, McLean died of brain cancer and lung cancer. The film was dedicated to his memory. i13.Report this post to Admin please.com/albums/a274/patch60/Lenny_mclean.jpg[/IMG] You could be right Johnno [edit] Old interview Perhaps Jon could change Jigsaw's Member of Excellence to The Guv'nor

I know that I am a terrible name dropper but I was once in the studio audience of a show where Lenny was the guest. Sad to hear he died
