I've just been ploughing through the net looking at some of the stuff dedicated to the TAPS show Ghosthunters. For starters I've read the stuff about how Jay and Grant bad mouthed Brian and was surprised at how they chose to behave towards him. There's a lotta anger out there about this! I don't know the ins and outs but it seems that even though Brian was a plank, the leads in this show went out of their way to really badmouth the guy, even in one of the books they wrote. I don't call that very professional. I've also seen a very good sceptical site dedicated to GH and GHI and seen some really good debunking of their methods, including a rigged thermocamera which shows the timestamps had been doctored (the Manson house episode). It seems they've (GH) pulled a lot of the material off Youtube (hmmm can't think why). The arguements are very concise and rational without any of the hysteria some other sites I have read (this one exlcluded). All in all, I'm very impressed with the way the evidence is presented by fans of the show who are truly sceptical of what they have watched. More sites like BP and the one just mentioned (I won't mention it by name in case it's not allowed) are needed! That is my interpetation of the site, totally impartial and unbiased. If I can post a link I will, if not then PM me if you want the link. It's a very good sceptical site like I say.

There is one forum on the sci-fi website dedicated to GH and I have to say, it is reassuring to see so many posters with sceptical views on the show. A great many felt let down by the obvious fakery on the live halloween show when Grant faked the jacket tug. I also think Brian was treated really badly by Jason and Grant. The guy made a mistake or two but fell out with them just because he wanted to settle down with new girlfriend and have a family.

Ive seen the whole Jacket tug vid on youtube and the actual episode on repeat , its really really really obvious its utterly faked.Cringeworthy infact ...way back episodes gave the impression that they were sceptical and at least considered all options but as with most things as the attention grew and fanbase went crazy they seemed to loose all of that an go down the MH route of give them what they want at all costs. Sad really as i used to think way back at the start that Grant and Jason seemed like decent kind of everyday guys ....that soon faded long before the jacket tug i have to say though . Id have thought after that in particular though most people on the fence where GH are concerned would have at least seriously started to doubt them after that if not totally turned on them. Some of their fan sites really are very fanatical and scary to be honest in their content in that they seem to attract quite nutty sorts.

Who's brian?
There is one taps dedicated (official apparently) forum that you can link straight from TAP's main webpage, that is crazy. I know there are different outlooks to the 'paranormal' but those members on there are telling other members things like 'That sounds more like you suffering from seizers, go get yourself checked by a doc'. Seriously, it's crazy!
Yes, you should look at natural causes but should people really be feeding anxiety with falsified info??
If I were TAPS, I would have decapitated that forum from affiliation.

Brian was involved in Ghost Hunters in the first couple of series. He was often picked on by Jason in particular and every mistake he made, was highlighted in the show as if nobody else made any but him.

I'm a mod on that forum and have been for over four years. We have always asked people to check out anything with their docs before even thinking of the paranormal, which is what should be done with anyone who thinks they're hearing voices, seeing things, and smelling stuff. As far as the arm chair diagnoses, we try to discourage that, but do let posters know that there are medical issues that should be checked first. The forum that links from TAPS' main site is their forum and has been since before the show, and it's not going anywhere any time soon. Usually when someone mentions the poster visiting the doctor, it's because we don't believe their story. <shrug> We had one poster insisting she was being haunted, told her it sounded like sleep paralysis and to go to a doctor for a sleep study if she was really frightened. She came back two days later and said she'd had one done and she was fine, but was still seeing ghosts. We all knew it would take longer than two days, plus we have a member that does sleep studies, so we called BS and she slithered off to find somewhere else for her Munchausen by Internet issue. As far as how I feel about TAPS, I think they're full of it, but I'm good friends with my fellow mods and I stay for them. I don't even go into the show section. It's been fake for years. Brian deserved what he got from them, quite honestly. He's a super nice guy, but a total f*ck up. Who's brian? If I can be forgiven for plugging a web site that I'm involved with, there's an interesting site out there called Skeptical Viewer at skepticalviewer.com. We post reviews of Ghost Hunters episodes and generally try to apply critical thinking to paranormal TV shows. We call ourselves a Ghost Hunters fan site for skeptics.
