Is there anyone here from the North East of England who would be interested in a Skeptics in the Pub meeting being set up? Well, there's a proposal to do so but the organisers need to gauge the level of interest first. So if you are from the NE and you'd be interested in attending, could you let the organisers know. UKS forum: hereor Facebook: hereIf there's enough interest, this could be up and running before too long. So please register your interest.

Who is running John?
Also whoever is running it should speak to Simon Perry, (Leicester SitP when he is not Skiing for 4 months in France), Simon is really good at all this stuff, and helped out with great ideas and contacts for the Skeptics in the Brum meets

Yep, Simon was very helpful when we set up in Brum. Its hard to gauge support and I think like Jon says, sometimes you have to jump in and start it up. As long as you get a few along you can build it up. The other SITPs have helped us and there is a lot of support out there. Sheffiled have just done an amazing poster for us to help publicize our next event. I'd certainly be happy to share any ideas or contacts as would others from Birmingham and, I am sure, all around the country.

It's also worth holding a social before having a speaker along to drum up interest. Not to mention holding a 'ladies who do skepticism (and coffee)' event to encourage female skeptics to attend too.

I think the idea is to have a preliminary pilot meeting. Shouldn't women be in the kitchen making something for their man's return from their SitP meeting though? ;D *ducks*
