Twenty-year-old Gary Mannion calls himself Britain's youngest psychic surgeon, channelling a spirit from the dead to operate on the sick. He travels the world to bring his alleged ability to effect miracle cures to a devoted following.
Filmmaker Emeka Onono follows Gary as he tries to prove he really does have the power to heal. Emeka hears stories of miracle cures, watches Gary operate and even participates in seances, before turning to science to try to separate fact from fantasy.
When's Gary: Young, Psychic and Possessed coming up? BBC 3 March 24th at 9pm
Watch on youtube for when the BBCi link runs out or for people outside the UK

I don't know if Jon has a copy of the interview, but I doubt it - it will be copyright of the BBC I'd have thought. I'm afraid I'm becoming less optimistic about the documentary - at best it will be non-committal. If the producer wants any more commissions, he can't afford to be totally dismissive of Mannion's claims, even if he wanted to be.

Do you honestly think that I would allow the BBC to film me, and potentially put me in a negative light without me having my own copy of the interview? You dont know me very well.
I have my own seperately filmed copy, the quality is not great, but it is a full unedited copy. And guess what I own FULL copyright on my own recording.
I made it very clear to Emeka that any dodgy editing would result in me handing his ass to him on a plate.
I must admit i agree, however I have to stay positive, I made it very clear to Emeka that if he shirked his responsibilities as a journalist that I would do everything in my power to complain and make sure the world knows the truth.
If the BBC produce a non-committal documentary, then I will go to plan B

I'd say what you have Jon is potential dynamite, either way you should be able to get your point across whether they show your bit or not. ;D

Well I have some ba news folks. I just spoke to Emeka, and as predicted the BBC Legal Dept refused to allow my interview to be shown in any part!
Apparently they cant have someone like me "libel" Gary Mannion, yet they have no problem with giving a proven fraud and liar in Mannion a 1 hour free advertisement.
Apparently Gary Mannion seems "Plausible" in his excuses, and the documentary leans towards him being either a bit delusional or the real deal.
Look guys we all knew that the BBC would shirk its responsibilities, but the documentary does show some people who claimed that Gary had cured them, but he hadn't, lets only hope that the viewing public can make up their own mind the man is a fraud.
Its just incredible that they make a program about Gary Mannion and dont even have the guts to air the interview with the owner of the sites that have spent over a year exposing the man.
Gary Mannion must already be rubbing his hands in glee and preparing his "As seen on the BBC" banner for his site.

Well I guess it was always going to be a bloody miracle for the BBC to get a backbone!
Gary Mannion...plausible excuses!! What a crock of sh*t! I have a feeling I will be throwing things at the television when it's aired

So is there no anti Gary Mannion view expressed on the documentary?
Well, that's one point against it for a start. If it's not impartial enough then I'll be putting in a complaint, for starters.

It all depends on the tone of the rest of the documentary.

Yeah, let's wait until it's aired.
Anything factually wrong or misleading, we can mass complain to BBC.
All documentaries of this type tend to have a certain style these days - putting both sides across and letting the viewer 'decide'. It's absurd, but the way things are with that organisation.

I think it will be impartial, and there will be enough stuff to cast doubt on Mannion, however I just get the feeling that it will be too non-committal to satisfy us. Either way we wont know till its aired. I hear there will be a "trailer" featuring BPs own Richard Sutherland released on youtube tomorrow, so you never know. As long as BadPsychics gets some good plugs I can forgive me being cut out

Wait until it airs, and if it is as bad as you think it'll be, then make a complaint to both the BBC and Ofcom. The post your entire interview on youtube, and forward people to that link. Let people see your "libel" for themselves, and make up their own mind. BBC seem quite cowardly to be honest, they have a civic responsibility to warn people about delisional "healers" like Gary.
