Bloody Christians!

I read the following article last night and it filled me with rage!

Bloody Welsh Christian Party wanting to dispense with 1,500 years of Welsh history by replacing the dragon on our flag, because the dragon is the "symbol of evil"!

On reading their website, it just made me even more mad. The party was only set up a few days ago!!!

The Welsh Christian Party maintains a no compromise stand on some key manifesto issues:

1)Heritage

It is the policy of the Welsh Christian Party to re-establish the Lordship of Christ Jesus in the affairs of state in Wales, the manifesto of Welsh Christian Party has been written on the basis of honouring the demands of God given in His Holy Word. The same Holy Word that H.M. Queen Elizabeth swore upon in 1953, in her declaration that she would keep the Laws of God in all her actions of state, and the same word that is sworn on in every court in the land.

2)Health Service

In restoring the Christian heritage of the nation, we restore the moral fabric of society removing the effects of immoral behaviour. We will re-establish Christ Jesus as the Healer in our nation.

The curse of abortion on demand and euthanasia will be removed from the Service too, it being a medical and Biblical fact that a child is just as much a child in the womb as out of it! As God is the Healer, we do not accept the notion of “terminal disease” believing that even when all physical effort has failed there is a supernatural element to these matters. We will, therefore, not tolerate a situation where in one part of the Health Service people are being killed, and in another being healed.

3)Sex Education

The Government is set to introduce new laws that not only ban discrimination against homosexuality but actually seek to promote it through the education system. For the Welsh Christian Party, the practice of homosexuality will be presented as a sinful activity alongside sex out of marriage. By restoring the moral foundations amongst our young people we all can look forward to a more stable society in future. We support the teaching of sex education with parental support only, given within the context of marriage. The present situation has created the highest teenage pregnancy rate in Europe, cannot be allowed to continue.

4) Family values

The Welsh Christian Party will restore family values back to Wales. We believe the traditional family unit is the building block not only of the Church but also of our nation. The Bible refers to the union of a man and woman in marriage alongside the union of Christ Jesus and the Church. This is how seriously God sees marriage and the Welsh Christian Party will constantly work to restore the family unit back to Welsh society. A stable home life for a child, the security of a mother and father under God should be the foundation for life in Wales.

5)Law & order

A Welsh Christian Party led Assembly would look to work with local government as a team with agreed objectives to meet the needs of the people of Wales. People are fed up with excess rule and regulations, many coming from Europe. We would encourage teamwork and we seek partnership more than dictatorship.

The Welsh Christian Party will address a wide range of issues including better support for the emergency services, a tougher stance on drug possession and promotion of drugs, better management of the prison system and the housing of asylum seekers.

The launch will start to put the Welsh Christian Party on the political map and as the election date draws closer, the party will be sending out press releases specific to policy issues to draw the electorate into lively debate. The Welsh Christian Party will endeavour to show a consistency between policy and practice – truly a concept unique to a Welsh political party in the 21st Century.

What is it with these peoples obsession with wanting to force their childish superstitious belief system on to normal folk?

Lets all base our moral behavior on the teachings in the bible shall we...this means that we will be able to sell our kids into slavery (check), stone our children for thinking for themselves ( check), have no control over our own sexual destiny (check), execute people who want to work on a Sunday (check) , well seems good to me...but being partial to the odd bit of shelled seafood I guess Ill have to be executed too seeing as these will be "verboten".

The "curse of abortion"...says it all really, so you listen up women, if these jokers have thier way you will be forced into shady back street butchers to exercise the right not to have a child, you don't have any say over your body! full stop! As far as not accepting the notion of " terminal disease", well Im sorry to say this but they do exist..any illness that will kill you and cant be treated at the moment is terminal, idiots, it doesn't matter how many times you appeal to your sky daddy these people do not suddenly spring back to life fully fit....

So despite not tolerating bad levels of treatment in different NHS trust arears they are more than happy to have you die of a disease because " god will it" and not bother to research treatment.

Yes thats right the govt has dared to introduce laws that dont allow the jesus cultists to discriminate and endorse the good old fashioned bronze aged bible bigotry! And too think that you thought you were inherently free to exercise your free will, nonsense you must behave just like the rest of the sheep and the sheep masters who desperately want to control what you do in the privacy of your bedrooms because some deluded theocrat has decided how YOU should use your body parts!!!! Sex education with "parental support" ?? these guys are plain weird, how can you possibly stop all sexual learning ..oh thats right these peoples kids will be kept in sealed boxes, fed through a hole in the box and only allowed out to pray...

Tough luck here if you simply dont want to have a partner full time, I can only assume that the penalty for having a child out of wedlock or co-habiting without marriage will result in most people being desperately locked in horrible relationships resulting an all sorts of anger issues , tough for them that daddy beats mommy/mommy beats daddy because god says they MUST be together no matter what makes logical sense.

I shudder to think of what nightmares will be unleashed allowing people with this agenda any power over rule of law, think of the Taliban..give them a welsh accent and you would be pretty close.

You know I could go on and on here but dealing with this type of thinking just wears me out..how these people can exist in such a critical thinking and intellectual desert is beyond my understanding.

Please don't tar all Christians with the same brush - I'm sure the majority of Christians in the UK have no problem with the Dragon on the Flag - nor would many go along with the Manifesto. Let's face it all religions and belief systems (including spiritualism) seem off kilter to non-believers. If their that whacko - they simply wont attract the votes (incidentally, I don't agree totally agree with your views on abortion - but hey we're all human and that makes us what we are!)

I wouldn't tar all Christians with the same brush on this issue. Wales was a Christian nation for a long time, but the Red Dragon has been a symbol of Wales for centuries. If it was THAT evil, it would have been taken down a LONG time ago!

I'd be very surprised if the WCP get more than a couple of hundred votes.

I could tell you a long, very sad story about a small number of people who consider themselves to be christian can really be quite arrogant and destructive. In my personal experience, it seems they put themselves above others, shun those who don't believe and have priorities that frankly, in my opinnion, are totally un-christian.

Strangely enough, I always considered my self to be christian. But have been told I'm not.

That's ok. If what I have experienced is a christian, then I'm relieved that I'm not one.

Don't know it that makes sense, I'm a bit tired. Don't mean to offend or generalise.

So where does one draw the line on acceptance of delusional religious belief? Shall we just say "oh Christian group A aren't as deluded and dangerous as the Christian group B so its alright then"? Imagine if we parted the same grace to the sociopathic or any other type of delusional disorder?

If anything its the moderately religious that screams " where arnt all crazies!!" that provide a nice little safe haven for the more disturbed members of these archaic belief systems by making it harder to criticize the cozy little god club and even get protection from such criticism in law!.

And what is it with the theist obsession with the termination of pregnancy and sexual control?? Show me one good valid reason why a woman should not have the rights to do what she wants with her body or the products of it? Right. This is my tale. It's based on what has happened to me and the effect it has had on me and my children. It's not generalising, it's just how I see it. It's long...

I figured my ex-husband (married for 20 years) was my best friend. We have four children, but he rarely chose to join us in day trips. Fair enough, I just accepted that. We had a big house and a huge garden, so we did have lots of laughter.

I went to Anglican Church. I would go every other week, on my own. Ex didn't want the children to go to Sunday school etc, figured they could decide when they're adults. Again, that's fine.

Almost 6 years ago he met someone on the internet who introduced him to the bible. She would tell him that the way religion is taught, especially by the catholics was wrong. You should read the bible yourself and reach your own beliefs. His believes were guided by her.

She was kept a secret for 6 months. Gifts along with prayers were sent to the children. They weren't allowed to tell mum. Photos and videos were sent across the Atlantic to where this woman lives. Emails too, at silly hours of the day.

Life was impossible, and the effect on the children was astounding. I asked and asked him to give up this woman, but was repeatedly asked if I'd read the bible, told I should read it again. He would follow me around the house telling me I was an awful mother, and that I didn't deserve to have children, simply because I questioned his involvement with this person, who he had never met, and questioned his understanding of the bible.

I left. He chose god ahead of his family.

When I first left, during contact time the children were told stories in such a way that my youngest, then 5, believed that god hated him because he had been given warts. To see a child rocking back and forth sobbing into his hands is heartbreaking. My son with special needs was told that god sent the winds that make the lights go out. He is terrified (and I mean terrified) of the dark. The same with thunder. Comments were even made about the Tsunami.

Punishment was them having to sit on the floor and have passages read to them from the bible.

They were made to go to church on the sunday morning, and sunday school in the afternoon. They told me they hated it. I ignored them, thinking they'd get used to it. My youngest started to soil himself, my son with special needs had even more tantrums and my daughter was very close to having a nervous breakdown.

They don't feel they can talk to him. If they have a problem, god will send the answer. As my daughter say, at least I say if I don't know. Not allowed to watch certain programmes as they're evil. TV gets switched off with certain adverts. The god channel is fine though, apparantly.

I can go on forever. These are just a few examples. Sunday contact has been withdrawn - finally, last May after a stack of solicitor letters. With the help of the school, the children have had a few scientific explanations given to them.

Sex education book was given to my son when he was 12. All discussing things withing marriage. They've discussed homosexuality with me. Wouldn't dare with their father.

He's met two women so far, on a christian website. He was going to marry them both (did finish with the first one! ). Both relationships have ended, but not before lots and lots of contact time cancelled.

Shouldn't family be a high priority of a christian? Shouldn't the needs of your children come first? Shouldn't providing for your children be important? Shouldn't sticking to your word with your children matter?

I no longer go to church.

Perhaps he is right and I am wrong. I believe I must have done awful things to have gone through this and tons more. And what about my children?

Amazingly, my children seem ok. My ex-in-laws have been fantastic and I see them every week.

It still goes on. My eldest pokes fun at his dad now when his mates are over, but I stop it instantly, saying he has to respect his father's beliefs. Difficult when the children have seen little respect shown by their father.

Sorry it's long, and irrelevant, really. Per haps you might like to ask questions if something leaves you curious. I've never been good at explaining!

That is one heck of a story, and I sympathise wholeheartedly. Can I ask if your ex husband has had any kind of mental problems in the past?
