in your honest opionion do you think the following below was written by a 10 year old boy ?
the reason i ask is because there is a man called "scooby" who claims to be a computer camp teacher and hes very close to a boy called "dustin" who is 10 years old but the typing and grammer appear to match "scooby" but 2 boys who came to me are suspecting that this man is infact the child dustin he claims to work in little rock usa.
take a look at the so called pictures of the kid and the blog
here
www.cyberkidshome.com/dustin/blog.html i did ask meercat sometime ago to investigate this but hes gone off from the boards for a while, i'm asking someone who can investigate to help me find the truth of this man. I did tell dave a while back and he said its definetly an adult's writing and he would investigate further.
thank you, if you need more evidence i can provide it
hi ****, my name is dustin. i am friends with scooby and the cyber-kids bulletin boards belong to me. in fact, scooby is also my teacher here at the daily "computer daycamp" all summer.
as you can see, we are in the process of moving everyone over from the current board to the new location where you registered yourself the other day. i also know that you sent a message to scooby last month and he ignored it. that was cuz i asked him to. let me explain...
cybner-kids is about a dozen active guys between 10 and 14 at the moment. you can find more about it here from my website that i use when i make a new penpal. AAAkids.net/dustin/board.html
like all penpal matters, there have always been plenty of others who asked to be registered (i have never allowed self-registration like on most forums) but never understood forums (all the know is email) or found ous boring or something. not active users or members of what we call our "family". great guys, good friends.
in order to keep it "safe" for the little ones (i once thought that younger kids would want to participate also) i went to extremes to keep it secret and safe with no outsiders, no fakes, no mature discussions). now as we are all a year older, and the idea of little brothers and younger members didnt happen so much, we are probably going to open up a little.
we have two enemies however. one was a former member, the other his new best-friend who has been a victim of fraudlent penpels in the past, and is convinced that anyone that reads and writes well, is intelligent, must be a fake. well everyone has their own opinion, and thats ok. but when they start spreading their crap around and emailing my friends trying to cause me problems, i have to call them enemies, attackers, and look out for attempts to cause me more trouble.
our first cyber-kids board was at invisionfree, a free board service, and they complained about us to invisionfree that we were not following the invisionfree rules. kids under 13 are not allowed to own, run, or participate in invisionfree forums. we had to turn off posting and remove birthdays and email addresses so that they would leave it up. just for historical purposes.
so we had a crisis. we paid big money for a year of hosting where we talked to the host and they told us that they didnt care. it was my responsibility, and the new laws only applied to companies, not to individuals like me.
but we cant afford to continue that, so now we have a server and a board that is completely safe, hosted by our own paid servers and safe and permanent. all the members are worried about staying together in the years to come. thats just how they are.
our attackers have tried to attack us, sneak in, cause problems, and tell lies many times. they live in scotland and england. so when scooby got your first message, i told him to ignore it cuz i just dont understand where you came from. i was/am suspicious. not the first time they have tried to join cyber-kids.
how did you know about cyberkidshome.com??? how did you know that there were "boards" (plural) involved??? yes, suspicious. we like to think that all this is kinda secret and private. in the creation of the new board, i had not turned off the auto-registration yet. the fact that you started posting immediately shows that maybe you are not a trouble-maker :-)
for one thing, neither one of them use bethere.co.uk as their internet provider. that means a lot. the fact that we are constantly looking to find new guys that want friends as much as we do, thats also something we need to be aware of. we are becoming less careful, less picky, less secret as we get older and widen our services to our members.
if you are one of them, trying to sneak in, let me suggest that we talk openly about our differences and how we might change all that.
if you are not, and just somehow found out about us, please help me understand how that happened. i am sorry to treat anyone this way, but i am not going to let anyone or anything threaten my friends. cyber-kids is very important to us.
you are a member now of the new board, and i welcome you there. i will be moving old topics over to the new board in the remaining weeks of the summer. and then finally we will formerly move all the members over. the current board will disappear in december (when we no longer pay for it).
please write to me personally and lets get to know each other. please help me to understand, and please dont be scared off by all this "careful" attitude. i really try to take care of my e-friends.
thank you
dustin
