Well, erm, yes, I can.
Of course I am not saying for sure that I am right and others are wrong. That is just my opinion and I am at liberty to state it, just like others are at liberty to state theirs.
Again, how can you respect a belief if you don't share it? Surely to respect something, you believe it to be true. If you believe it to be true, or at least believe the possibility it is true, you would therefore share the belief? You can respect someone's RIGHT to a belief, but you can't respect the belief itself if you don't share it.
I don't think I have blasted anyone; merely beliefs that I don't believe in. I have not been abusive at all, unless you count calling Sylvia Browne "toad woman" and nobody could call that particular observation abusive..... except maybe to toads.

can we all calm down please
Everyones opinion on this board is respected whether we beleive it or not
lets keep this deabting on an adult and mature level. Of course we are not going to agree with what is said. But it costs nothing to think about what you are posting and lets not try and goad each other, but actually listen and perhaps try and learn something from one an other.

I never get heated, or wound up, or abusive (I don't think I do, anyway. One person's idea of abusive is another person's idea of tongue in cheek teasing) because it is only a message board. I come here for fun, entertainment and education and if I ever get to the stage of having to count to ten, I will switch off the computer and go get myself a life

*picks self up from floor* Do you have a beard, though? Goatee which i am again growing long. What was the topic again? Spiritualism. Just wonder, who has gone to a church for a service where philosophy is talked about as opposed to a open circle. An open circle does not really give you a true flavour of the religion as a whole.

True and some are as boring as hell. But many people have gone to an open circle and then seem to think that is all spiritualism is about,it ain't.

I think that is what I was trying to say Lowrider. When people talk about spiritualism they always think of mediums, but, spiritual as a religion is far more than that. Spiritualism is a way of life, it looks at how we handle life and other people. It doesn't do it in a "Godly" way, it isn't about praying every day and putting your life in the hands of spirits..it is about taking responsibility for your own actions and looking at life in a positive manner. That is the side of spiritualism I like, you don't have to be perfect, you don't have to never do any wrong, there is no penance" you look at your mistakes and learn to use them to learn and put things right.

Yes i agree, hence my question on how many people on this thread have ever been to a service,at least one. They should before letting their mouth run away on only one aspect of this religion, which was the topic not mediumship. But that would require effort and of course the would be tainted by associating with the evil ones.

This thread has certainly gone off on a tangent since I last posted. In answer to your question LR - I have been to many services... I have made my own judgements over many years. Comments on here are incorrect i.e 'churches do not charge' Maybe certain churches do not. As a rule many do... A visiting medium will charge on average £25 travelling costs. Some mediums take the full fee of around £50 for a Divine service. The comment: Spiritualism isn't 'Godly'... Read: The University of Spiritualism - Harry Boddington. A book wrote as part of a three year course on all aspects of spiritualism. See the written piece of reasoning behind the cause of a mediums 'fraud'... "The sitters conscious/unconscious interference with such phenomena"!! Do we need a new forum 'Bad Sitters'?
