Split from: Fancy a reading for £180pricing urself is one of those paradoxes in life...if u charge a tenner for a reading, people think ur too cheap, if u charge 180 quid, they think they must be getting some sort of superior service...as if derek for instance would do an hour's reading for 20 quid when people will queue up to pay him 200....he's got it made...and satan owns his soul... Thought I would use the fork button after reading the above post. Many Christians believe that psychics/mediums are doing the work of the devil, so the question is does Satan own psychics souls?

No, Satan does not own psychics' souls, because he doesn't exist any more than psychics do.
But if he did exist, then yes; he would own every single wizened, shrivelled, warped one.

Well thats kinda what i think If satan did exist then what better way to spread his evil than through psychics who believe they are doping gods work, or the work of good and helping people, its the perfect scam

Ex has told my lot that when they swear they get closer to the devil. Therefore I guess he has my soul with the amount of swearing I do! Mmm. That explains a lot...

Some sceptics come across as bitter and vengeful people driven to prove that they are right and everyone who is not on their side is against them. A little egotistical or what? Sceptics have sold their soul and they are the evil on this earth that prevents people believing that there is life after what we call death. Why?? Could be because in a past life they were evil, cruel, vindictive, tyrannical people and they know if any vestige of universal proof came to light there time would be done and they would return to hell or be judged by their God. They think they are bringing light to the believers but in fact they are keeping people in the dark as the are scared of what they will find if they ever have to look at their souls. Now that should get things stirred.

LOL, I'm not going to give you the satisfaction of remarking on most of your comments.... except "Or would he use sceptics to spread there tales of darkness trying to fool people into believing that there is nothing after this life and that their behavior means nothing." Where, on this entire site, does it say anything about behaviour meaning nothing? I behave properly because it is the right thing to do. Because my parents brought me up proper, like, and because my personal ethics tell me to. Not because some mythical being tells me that if I don't, I will go to Hell, or some woman in a turban tells me that if I don't, I will be reincarnated as a cockroach, or - much worse - Sylvia Browne.

satanists know that satan doesnt exist! he's just a concept that they live by....he's their god....uve seen the tom and jerry cartoons with the angel and the devil on either shoulder havent you?
for example, a psychic or medium such as derek, knows that he's conning people, but he also knows that they are easily conned, and he's taking advantage of that....and to his "god", satan, that is acceptable because he can get away with it and he can gain from it..he is free to do it and there aint no consequences such as guilt or pergatory..anything goes u see...and no, there are rules, u cant hurt or murder people...but u can take the piss so to speak cos u can get away with it and no ones any the wiser...
it doesnt matter to him that he's misleading people..if they believe he is telling the truth and he's convincing them of that, and they can also take something from it, then alls well and good...satan is no more than a way of life for some who choose it, thats all, he's not real...its like drinking beer when ur underage knowing ur mum and dad wont find out...u shouldnt, but u can...
and btw before i get sued for calling derek a satanist..im not saying he is for certain and trying to make people believe so...its just my personal belief that he is..

I think this just shows how fragmented believe systems are. Orthodox Christianity would have us believe that talking to the dead is talking to Satan in disguise, but the Spiritualist Church use prayer and hymns to raise the vibrations.
So, it depends who you're talking to! Which can't be right can it? If only a higher being would intervene and put us straight once and for all!

The spiritualist church provides a platform for frauds to steal money and con the vunerable.
Pretty much like any other church then

I agree. I went to a charity event linked to the spiritualist church recently and that didn't sit comfortably with me. The 'guest medium' decided to try me, and took one look at my body language and decided the reading wasn't for me and moved on. Needless to say, no one would talk to me over the tea break!
But his methods were to bully people into agreeing with him and afterwards I spoke to a girl who had a reading and she'd agreed to most of what he'd said at the time, giving the impression he was spot on. Afterwards she said that she didn't recognise half of it, but didn't like to say so in front of a room full of believers!
